This is your Wake Up Call: Don’t Miss Wake Up Call Fest
A music festival sans dirt and grime, situated in the luxurious comfort of the W Hollywood? Yes, it exists and it’s called Wake Up Call Fest. If you missed it, consider this your wake up call to not miss the next one. We have so many questions—like, why isn’t every hotel hosting music festivals? Why do people bother going to music festivals in fields when they can experience them in four star hotels?
Wake Up Call Festival is new! The first fest debuted in 2016 at W Scottsdale with Cee Lo Green as the headliner. This past two day fest on September 1st and 2nd on the Wet Deck at the W Hollywood was WAKE UP CALL’s second iteration and first global rollout. Put on your sun block and swimsuit because this festival series begins during the day on a rooftop pool under the sun. The musical waves from ZAXX, Phil N Good, and Taylor Wise might make you forget that a Corona costs $9. But somehow beer always tastes better when it’s more expensive, right music festival goers?
The LEFAIR Magazine team enjoyed the nighttime headliners, Charli XCX, CHROMEO, and PHANTOGRAM. Other highlights of the evening were the mysterious floating pool condom and getting splashed poolside by grown men’s drunken cannonballs during our favorite DJ’s set, LE YOUTH (“Siri,
is chlorine bad for Chanel bags?”) Check out our interview with LE YOUTH in our Winter 2017 issue.
Even if you’re not one for DJs or electronic music, WAKE UP CALL Fest’s lineup also included sets from Emily Vaughn, Matt Maeson, Korey Dane, and many more on the main stage and on the darling Billboard Living Room stage.
You can follow the fest to the W Barcelona September 21st – 23rd with headliners Black Coffee, Robin Schulz, and Martin Solveig. W Bali October 4th – 6th with Tove Lo, Angus & Julia Stone, and Sam Feldt.
LEFAIR Magazine highly recommends WAKE UP CALL Fest as a great way to end the summer to all music lovers, especially those hesitant about attending traditional less glamorous festivals.
