Karuna Apparel’s Commitment to Compassion
Karuna Apparel merges fashion and compassion. Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means “an act of compassion.” The creators of Karuna came together over the shared belief that there’s no excuse not to be a compassionately driven brand that gives back to the world in which it benefits from.
Their commitment to transparency, ethical design, and eco-minded production is contagious. Karuna’s active-wear is made from recycled plastic bottles and their yoga mats are 100% biodegradable natural rubber.
Karuna’s mission is to create “full-circle fashion” where everything and everyone benefits. This includes their customer, the economy, the environment and all creatures existing in it. All of their garments are sustainably made out of recycled plastic water bottles, right here in Los Angeles. Each outfit saves approximately 25 water bottles from ending up in landfills.
One of the features we are most excited to share with you is their new reversible design which now allows you to mix and match any one of their items, growing their next collection of 10 items to 48 outfit possibilities.
Karuna is also spearheading an artists’ initiative where they work with artists from all walks of life, and promote their unique artwork on their yoga mats. These artists receive a generous percentage of all sales, and recognition for their beautiful work.
Karuna takes it a step further by giving back 10% of their proceeds to animal rights groups. They are currently partnered with The Elephant Sanctuary, Orangutan Foundation International, and The Marine Mammal Center.
Karuna, AKA “compassion,” is sewn into every fiber of their brand’s ideology. The women who choose Karuna can be confident that they will not only look good, but also do good. #LGDG
